Balmain

For more than 35 years, Balmain has specialized in 100% human hair extensions. All hair is hand selected and feels just like your own hair. Balmain Fill-In Extensions are an innovative method of adding volume, color, creating texture or adding length to your natural hair using individual strands of hair extensions. Other options offered by Balmain extensions include FlairHair Fibre, a man made synthetic alternative, and Balmain DoubleHair. There is a full range of colors available in both natural and fantasy, 72 shades in total. There are also 3 different textures, straight, wavy and curly. Balmain also makes a range of dreadlocks, braids and hair accessories.


Donna Bella

Donna Bella Milan realizes that hair extension trends are changing the landscape of fashion styling. Donna Bella uses Remy hair to create their 100% human hair extension product. It is a precious commodity and as such, high quality, Indian Remy hair represents a small fraction of the current world market. Their hair is clinically washed and dried in humid warming tunnels to prepare the hair for the next step. Donna Bella then colors the hair to 35 different shades. And finally they revitalize each strand through a process known as MoisturGap infusion, where natural conditioners and moisturizers are restored to each strand of hair. Remy quality, combined with Donna Bella Milan's unique application process known as interlink guarantees the finest results available.

 

How are Extensions applied?

Fusion Method

During the process, a small, highlight size extension is added to a highlight size section of your natural hair. These are joined together using a wax bond. This bond will remain in place for up to three months and will not damage the natural hair. The extensions last 3 to 4 months depending on the natural hair growth, aftercare and maintenance. The better care they receive, the longer they last.

 Interlink (I-Link) Method

The I-Link method is also known as the beading method. It involves tiny aluminum beads created to hold the hair in place. A special tool made for this method is used to apply a tiny aluminum bead to a highlight section of your natural hair. A piece of human hair extension that is made especially for this application process is inserted into the bead on top of your natural hair. Another tool is used to clamp the bead to hold in the hair. The beads come in several colors to match your natural hair color so that it blends in with your hair. The extensions last the same length of time as the fusion method, and caring for them is also the same.
 
How Are They Maintained?
 
To complement your home aftercare regime and help you keep your extensions beautiful, we recommend a regular maintenance visit to your extension stylist. (For more information on the home aftercare regimen see Hair Extension Maintenance) During the first 3 to 4 months you have your extensions, it is normal to lose a few extensions, or the bond may become visible due to your natural hair growth. Do not throw away the extensions that come out of your hair. Every 6 to 8 weeks you should visit your stylist so he can reapply any extensions that have fallen out or become loose. We recommend a full removal be done around 3 months. This is because as the extension grows down the hair shaft, the bond begins to show, and your natural hair loss is held inside the extension. If they are not removed at this time it could cause damage to the natural hair. DoubleHair may require more regular maintenance; we recommend that DoubleHair is refitted every 6 to 8 weeks.

Removal & Re-Application:
 
Removal is a simple procedure which does not damage the hair if performed by your extension stylist. For fusion extensions, a removal solution is applied to the wax bond, the bond disintegrates and the extension is removed. Your hair is then brushed thoroughly and shampooed, conditioned and blow-dried. For Interlink extensions, a tool is used to press the bead, and the extension slides out. The good news is that your stylist can re-apply a percentage of the extensions as long as they are still in good condition. Thus, reapplication is cost effective compared to you initial application.
